Food: 5 stars! Am absolutely addicted to their tea leaf salad. The best in SF. Full and interesting flavors. I have literally done 3 days in a row of take out for their tea leaf salad. Their Rangoon Beef is also yum. Service: 5 stars. Clean place with very nice staff Have recommended to friends and can't wait to return for more deliciousness!
Finally got a chance to try this place, it's been on my list for so long. I love Burmese food and I've tried most of the other Burmese spots in the city except for this one. First of all the service was great we had multiple people consistently checking in on us so many times. We ordered the tea leaf salad, the Plata and dip the special lamb and shrimp dish, the chicken, curry, and the garlic noodles. I thought all the food was pretty good, but nothing really wowed me. I was hoping for something spicy and a bit bit more flavorful. I really enjoyed the the fiery lamb dish from Burma Superstar, so I was hoping to get something similar here, but perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes. I found the noodles to be lacking in flavor. I like the tea leaf salad at Burma superstar a lot better. My favorite thing here was probably the lamb chop. I really liked how it was marinated and the spice was on point. I definitely had higher expectations for this place and was a bit disappointed, but maybe I'll go back and try some other things.
James beard winner definitely lives up to the hype. The decor definitely is a blast from the past but both the food and service are pretty exceptional. Basically every dish we ordered was great to amazing. They also have some refreshing cocktails. I cannot recommend this spot enough. The eggplant with tofu, balada, tea leaf salad, Rangoon lamb were all incredible. Price was also reasonable at $120 for two inclusive of drinks and enough food to be stuffed through the next day.
The food amazing. We order a lot of food when we go eat. We order mandalay special noodle, tea leaf salad, balada, mango chicken, Burmese style noodle and also coconut rice. We also order the drink mandalay cooler. I also order the dessert which is mango sticky rice and also faluda.
The food amazing. I haven't take a picture because of the food smell so good. I usually go for mandalay special noodle as a main course and samosa as an appetizer. Also mandalay cooler is so good too. You should definitely try that mandalay cooler.
Food was very tasty and excellent service. The staff is friendly and customer oriented. Get there by 5:30 pm to get a table. Otherwise you'll wait if you get there after 7pm. Loved the BALADA appetizer, chicken pumpkin curry/coconut, and egg noodles.
Over 2,000 reviews, I usually won't bother to write anything BUT what a nice dinner I had here this weekend. We were a party of 4, snagged a 4top in the parklet and we were amazed by the service and quality of the cuisine. The woman who greeted and sat us was hilarious; I asked "what's good on the menu - everything?" and she replied "oh no, some dishes are much better than others!" She went on to list a few dishes and we figured out that many were specials, and not to be found on the menu. So it helps to ask to hear about the surf n' turf (lamb chops and battered shrimp) or the pork belly. We were waited on by numerous people throughout the evening, all unfailingly polite. Beautiful food. Well deserving of their recent James Beard award. We were the last people to leave the parklet but they didn't hurry us to leave at all, it was Karl the Fog who ended up evicting us with his ice-cold hands.
First time dining here at Mandalay restaurant, the food was incredible! The Mandalay seafood Paella was an incredible recommendation and the service was excellent. Will definitely come again.

This place was really good!! The wait staff is very friendly and the food comes out quick! Inside seemed busy and cozy, we sat outside and they were nice enough to light the lamp so we didn't get cold. The food is really good! Maybe I'll post a more in-depth review of their food if I go again. But one thing I want to tell you and not gatekeep is that THEY HAVE A SECRET MENU!! Just ask about it! I don't know why they told us about it, but it was absolutely spectacular! We got a sample platter and a few other entrees off the secret menu! A woman walked by and said "I have been eating here for 5 years and I have never seen that before." She was referencing our sample platter!
